About

The Asian Complete Count Committee of Georgia (ACCC) was formed to ensure the highest Asian count in Georgia’s history for Census 2010.  Our goal is to get every single Asian-American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, Asian immigrant, or refugee person (“Asian”) counted in Georgia, regardless of age, income-level, legal status, religious or political affiliation.

We recognize that reaching every Asian in Georgia will best be achieved through the collaboration of all our ethnic-Asian communities.  To that end, we hope this website will:

  • Serve as a central source of information and resources that all ACCC members can access and use;
  • Enable ACCC members to share volunteers, expertise, and ideas with each other;
  • Provide a centralized online calendar of events; and
  • Establish unified Census messaging and promotional strategies that all ACCC members can use and disseminate.

The Center for Pan Asian Community Services, Inc. (CPACS) serves as the organizational chair for the ACCC and is the host of this website.

The Center for Pan Asian Community Services, Inc. (CPACS) has been an advocate for Census as early as the 2000 Census.  CPACS realized the impact Census data has on our Asian Pacific Islander communities and worked tirelessly on outreach, education and assistance.  CPACS was awarded Outstanding Partner Award for Census 2000 for our exceptional efforts to get the API communities counted in Georgia.

For the 2010 Census, CPACS was asked to serve as the organizational chair for the Asian Complete Count Committee (ACCC) of Georgia.  In our efforts to mobilize our communities to ensure the highest API count in Georgia’s history, CPACS has already worked on several key initiatives.

CPACS is also working closely with the US Census Bureau on the following:

  • Job Testing Site:  CPACS is serving as a job testing site for the Census Bureau, and also assists the Census Bureau in identifying additional job testing sites that would be most beneficial for our API community.  Those that are seeking part-time jobs with the Census may come to our offices on designated dates to be tested for those jobs.  For more information on job availability and testing times, please go to:  http://2010.census.gov/2010censusjobs/.
  • Question Assistance Center:  CPACS is also serving as Question Assistance Center (QAC) for Census 2010.  A QAC is a place, usually a large community center like CPACS, that is selected by the US Census Bureau to assist people with completing their Census questionnaires.  As a QAC, we will have a staff person dedicated to assisting anyone that that walks into our offices and needs help completing their Census form.  Both our main office and Gwinnett satellite office will serve as a QAC.
  • Be Counted Center:  CPACS is also serving as a Be Counted Center (BCC) for Census.  A BCC has extra Census questionnaires (or Be Counted questionnaires) for those that may have not received a Census form in the mail.  As a BCC, CPACS will have the Census form in six languages, including English.  People may come to our offices, get a Census form and receive help in understanding and completing their form.  Both our main office and Gwinnett satellite office will serve as a BCC.

Welcome to the ACCC

Welcome to the Asian Complete Count Committee of Georgia's website! Particularly in the past ten years since the last Census, thousands of Asian Pacific Islanders (APIs) are making Georgia their new home. Georgia now has the second fastest growing API population in the United States.

With this exponential increase, it is absolutely critical that we work together to get every single Asian Pacific Islander, refugee and ethnic-minority to complete their simple, 10-question Census form when it is mailed to them in March 2010.

Please learn more about why Census is important, see what others in our diverse API community are saying and doing to promote the Census, and find ways to get involved.

You absolutely count, and together we can be sure that our entire API community in Georgia counts!!
