Activities and Ideas
So you’re interested in Census 2010 but want some ideas on the types of activities or events that could raise awareness in your community and ultimately get everyone to fill out their Census forms? The ACCC is here to help!Remember, the ultimate goal for any event or activity is to have every Asian in Georgia, as well as every person living in Georgia, complete their 10-question Census form. We believe the best way to achieve that result is through 3 principal activities during 3 principal time periods:
- Between now and March / April 2010 (March 1, 2010 is when the Census forms start to get mailed to households), get the word out that Census 2010 is coming and why it’s important (Sharing Information);
- Between now and March / April 2010, have larger forums, presentations or events to share your Census materials and information (Educational Forums);
- Starting March 1, 2010 through July 2010, provide Assistance Forums to your community members that may need help completing their Census forms.
About Us
The Asian Complete Count Committee of Georgia is a collective of other Asian-ethnic Complete Count Committees, non-profit organizations, business groups, faith-based groups, student organizations, and individuals that are or represent the Asian community in Georgia.
The ACCC was formed to ensure the highest Asian count in Georgia’s history for Census 2010.
ACCC members are eligible to receive mini-grants to support any ideas or events that will promote Census 2010 to targeted Asian communities.
